The challenge

The process of onboarding a merchant onto an acquiring bank's payment network was manual, dependent on physical documentation and slow. The client needed a platform that fully digitized the flow — from capturing merchant information to registration on international payment networks — and that could also be adopted by different acquiring banks under their own corporate identity, without requiring separate development for each one.

The solution

We developed an onboarding platform with a fully parametrizable user interface: colors, logos and brand elements are configured from an administration panel, allowing each acquiring bank to present the platform under its own visual identity. The onboarding flow covers structured capture of merchant information, owner identity validation via configurable facial recognition or other mechanisms, digital signature of contractual documents, generation of the merchant's unique code and automated registration on the Visa and Mastercard networks. Every step is traced with its timestamp, validation result and generated document, building a complete evidence chain of the onboarding process.

The differentiator of this project was not any individual technology component — facial recognition, digital signatures and Visa/Mastercard APIs are all available technologies — but the seamless integration of all these elements into a process that the bank’s operator can complete in a single session without leaving the platform, and that the merchant owner experiences as a coherent digital process from start to finish.

The white-label architecture was a design decision that multiplied the value of the development: the same platform serves multiple acquiring banks with their own brand identities, reducing the marginal cost of onboarding a new bank to configuring a set of visual and business parameters — without touching the codebase.
